Distribution Center Design

Whether you are retrofitting an existing facility that requires distribution design services or are building from the ground up, you will benefit from Boston Industrial’s distribution master planning services. Master Planning

Master Planning and Programming begins with operational needs assessments that include documentation of important design assumptions, goals and project constraints. Our rigorous concept generation phase captures all potential opportunities for improvement and focuses on short and long-term project goals. Plans include detailed future state layouts, process descriptions and capital investment plans for ease of execution and project management.

Process & System Improvement

We optimize workflow, reduce waste and increase productivity through observation, analysis, brainstorming, and implementation of Lean based philosophies. We train and educate the workforce on Lean Manufacturing Principles and advanced techniques. “Lean” manufacturing is a methodology for driving operational efficiency internal involvement to identify waste and establish a culture of continuous improvement.

Robert N. Liptrot | President and Founder

Bob is President and Founder of Boston Industrial Consulting. He is actively involved in a wide variety of projects in the manufacturing, life sciences/medical device, apparel fulfillment, distribution, and government sectors, with a project scope from $5M to over $100M. He helps clients determine and plan long-term operational strategy with Master Business Planning and Operations Analysis, and carry out tactical projects focusing on detail layout planning, material handling system design, distribution design, and project management. Bob is an expert in new technology and automation, and helps clients find solutions to reduce reliance on labor. He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from Bentley College.

Jasin P. Effland | VP, Supply Chain Solutions

Jasin is Vice President of Supply Chain Solutions. His expertise is in e-commerce fulfillment and retail distribution with proven results in facility and material handling design, continuous process improvement and supply chain optimization. Prior to joining Boston Industrial, Jasin worked for Staples, Inc. in various engineering and project management roles leading key projects supporting Stapes North American supply chain. Jasin holds a BS in Industrial Engineering degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Jason S. Kumorek | Director

Jason is a Director for Boston Industrial offering experience in design, engineering, specification, and implementation of warehousing and manufacturing process improvement projects. He specializes in the optimization of material and workflow including receiving, product movement, picking, storage, and inventory control. Prior to BIC, Jason worked at Abel Womack, Inc. focusing on the development and implementation of material handling, storage, technology, and process improvement projects across a wide range of industries. Jason holds a BS in Business and Technology Management with a focus on Project Management from Clarkson University.

Deepti Biswal | Director

Deepti is a Director at Boston Industrial Consulting and has extensive experience in supply chain management. In his prior positions at DJO Global & Baylor Scott White Health, he was responsible for leveraging analytical frameworks to develop supply chain strategies to balance flexibility and operational efficiencies across the supply chain network. In addition to an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, he holds a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and an MBA from the Cox School of Business from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. He also holds supply chain certifications from APICS & ISM and has completed MicroMasters Supply Chain Program from MIT.

Berk Uras | Consultant

Berk is a Consultant for Boston Industrial offering experience in engineering design. Prior to BIC, Berk worked at Daifuku — Wynright as an Application Engineer where he developed proposals for the sale of large material handling systems, consulted with companies to provide concept drawings in AutoCAD, and created sub-contractor RFQs and cost estimates. He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

Justin Lee | Consultant

Justin comes to Boston Industrial Consulting from Kiss Products, Inc. where he worked as a Senior Supply Chain Analyst. Some of his key responsibilities included curating a dashboard to track live inventory status, developing customized BI dashboards, and justifying warehouse expansion programs. Prior to that, Justin served as a Production Assistant Manager at Daehan Solution Georgia, where he implemented and refined motor vehicle manufacturing processes through Lean Manufacturing principles. He holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin — Madison.

Integrated with J&J team on a major production expansion allowing for 2x Manufacturing output as production space migrated into distribution space. Implemented automated Material Handling solutions to eliminate labor and improve safety. Planned a direct make-to-load program for high-volume SKUs. Optimize layout and overall Material Handling Systems throughout a 750,000-sf facility.

Parsippany, NJ; Cumberland, RI; Whippany, NJ

Assisted Tiffany with expansion programs involving Silver Manufacturing and Supply Chain Automation projects. Designed and implemented a new distribution center plan for e-commerce and catalog operations to meet the increasing demand for direct-to-consumer sales.

Planned and designed a 270,000-sf, world-class medical device manufacturing Center-of-Excellence for the Endovations product line. The building’s plan included manufacturing, distribution and sterilization using ETO sterilization chambers, adhering to FDA and GMP guidelines.
